After surrendering Peter Spoden and his entourage are captured and brought to a meeting place on
the Unterschleissheim city hall square. The population receives the approaching GIs displaying
white cloths in the windows.
The city hall square is taken by the GIs and their vehicles occupy the whole space.
Rather an unusual sight for the citizens of Unterschleissheim: for a few hours the city is
transported back 62 years into the past.
The cast gathers for a group photo.
Oberschleissheim
On April 29th, 2007 the U.S. troops advance from Unterschleissheim towards Oberschleissheim...
... and take the village encountering no resistance.
For many years after the war Americans were a common sight in Oberschleissheim, and now the
illusion returns for 2 days.
After a tedious march through the Berglwald the U.S. Army camps in front of the city hall to
gather strength for the march to the air field.
